DCA vs lump sum
Lump sum
Buying all at once. It tends to win in a rising market, but a drop right after you buy hits the whole position — it's the most timing-sensitive approach.
Monthly DCA
Buying a fixed amount every month. You buy less when prices are high and more when low, smoothing your average cost and reducing timing risk — a common fit for a volatile asset.
FAQ
How much is Bitcoin right now?
The live JPY/USD price at the top of this page comes from CoinGecko's public data. It moves every few seconds to minutes, so treat it as a reference.
How is the 'what if I'd invested' figure calculated?
We use CoinGecko's real daily price history: it assumes you bought at the start date's price and values it at today's price. DCA sums monthly buys at each month's price. Fees, taxes and spread are excluded.
Is DCA or lump sum better?
There's no single right answer. Lump sum tends to win in a rising market; DCA smooths your cost when you can't read the market. This tool lets you compare both on the same terms. Decisions are your own.
Can I start with a small amount?
You don't need to buy a whole BTC — most exchanges let you start from a few hundred yen, and some offer automated monthly buys. See the BTC coin page for the basics of how to buy.
